Women's Self-Defence Workshop at Jagat Taran Golden Jubilee School.
Description: On 28th April 2025, a workshop on self-defence was organized under the aegis of Axis Bank at Ravindralaya, Jagat Taran Golden Jubilee School, Prayagraj. The audience comprised teachers, and students, primarily girl students from classes 9 to 12. The workshop began with the lighting of the lamp. Principal Ms. Sushmita Kanungo welcomed all the dignitaries present. The workshop started on a positive note with the introduction of self-defence strategies and techniques to counter various types of attacks. The main objective of the program was to educate women on safety awareness, equip women with practical self-defence tricks, and foster a sense of community and support among participants while promoting a culture of mutual respect and empowerment. The initiative taken by our school in collaboration with Axis bank is indeed commendable as this programme aims to empower women with knowledge and skills and confidence to become strong. This comprehensive programme combined theoretical knowledge with practical self-defence techniques, promoting a culture of safety and resilience among women. The workshop was dexterously conducted by Mr. Gaurav Chauhan who is an experienced self-defence trainer with a background in martial arts. The programme was organized in collaboration with Uttar Pradesh Police Mahila Samman Prakoshth (1090). Miss Leina Singh, Ex. Police Officer (Intelligence Wing) was also present on the occasion and gave her valuable guidance. Ram Khanna, Branch Manager, Axis Bank actively participated in the workshop and devoted his precious time all through the workshop. Around 250 children enthusiastically participated in this workshop. The workshop concluded with children getting an exposure to various techniques and strategies which is purposely designed to empower women and make them feel safe and confident.
