with a Grand Finale
The summer camp “Umang” concluded with a colourful closing ceremony on 30 May, 2025 at Jagat Taran
Golden Jubilee School, Prayagraj, which lasted for a span of 15 days. During this period, students
presented soulful performances in poetry, drama, dance, fine arts, and yoga etc. The camp, which began
on 16 May, 2025 , primarily aimed at identifying the skills of students and nurturing and enhancing their
talents to make them capable of showcasing their prowess in their respective fields. Around 300 students
participated enthusiastically in the camp with the desire to learn something new and fully immersed
themselves in the spirit of “Umang”. The workshop provided training in activities like meditation and yoga,
clay modelling, fine arts, art and craft, origami, slogan writing, stylized lettering, fireless cooking,
animation, decorative arts, poetry, drama, and various Indian and folk-dance styles. To instil special
confidence in students in the fields of fine arts and drama, distinguished experts were invited.
The workshop was conducted under the aegis “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” campaign wherein emphasis
was placed on linguistic diversity by including Hindi, Bengali, Sanskrit, Kannada, and other languages in
speech and drama practice.
Alongside the camp, under the CBSE-approved language festival, competitions like word writing in
different Indian languages, showcasing traditions from various states, lectures on the cultural
development of India, and student presentations on mythological stories and legends were organized.
Shri Sanjeev Chanda, The Joint Secretary, Shri Shankar Chatterjee, the treasurer of Jagat Taran Education
Society, along with the school Principal Mrs. Sushmita Kanungo inaugurated the event by lighting the
lamp. The event was attended by Shri Amit Neogi, Manager, Jagat Taran Golden Jubilee School, Shri Manoj
Banerjee, Vice President and other members of the school managing committee. They expressed their
appreciation for the commendable performances of the students. In his address, Shri Shankar Chatterjee
praised the creative participation and presentations of the children and envisioned a bright future for
them. He emphasized the importance of regular sports, physical activities, and cultural programmes in
students’ lives and encouraged the structured training of sports and cultural activities.
The school Principal Mrs. Sushmita Kanungo, praised the students for their excellent performances and
applauded the teachers for their valuable guidance and support and wished that the students would
continue to demonstrate even better outcomes in future with what they have learned in these 15 days.
She mentioned that in the summer camp, students were trained in sports and other art forms based on
their interests and aptitudes.
On this occasion, students, parents, teachers and dignitaries were present and enjoyed the diverse
presentations by the students. The summer camp was indeed a great success and the students had an
enjoyable and enriching experience by participating in the same.
