INTER-HOUSE ENGLISH DEBATE COMPETITION

(WHEN MINDS SPARKED AND WORDS SOARED)

JagatTaran Golden Jubilee School, Prayagraj, organised an intellectually stimulating Inter-House English Debate Competition on 19 September 2026, providing students with a vibrant platform to articulate their views, challenge conventional perspectives and engage in meaningful discourse. The thought-provoking topic for the debate was “Artificial Intelligence is Creating More Opportunities than Risks.”

The event was graced by the esteemed presence ofChief GuestShri Ganesh Kesarwani, Mayor of Prayagraj, along with the Guest of HonourShriAshishDwivedi&ShriAnandGhildiyal, Corporators, and ShriSanjeevChanda, Secretary, JagatTaran Education Society, ShriAmit Kumar Neogy, Manager,Shri Shankar Chatterjee , Treasurer, ShriAnjanPalitand other esteemed Managing Committee members, Mrs. Dolly Banerjee, Principal, coordinators and teachers.Their gracious presence added distinction and significance to the occasion.

Young orators from Tagore, Vivekananda, Subhash and Bankim Houses passionately presented arguments both for and against the motion, demonstrating remarkable confidence, eloquence, critical thinking and command of language.

The competition was adjudicated by Ms.VatsalaJaiswal, PGT in English, Allahabad Inter College, an experienced educator, avid speaker and mentor. The Mayor was felicitated by the Manager and Principal, while Ms.Jaiswal was felicitated by the Principal.

• Overall Winner: Subhash House
• Runner-up: Vivekananda House

The event was beautifully compered by Divishi Malik (XI-C) and efficiently conducted by Abhimanyu Singh, President, and SuprabhaParmar, Vice-President, English Literary Club. The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Mrs.SmitaSamaddar, School Coordinator.

The debate was more than a competition—it was a celebration of young voices, bold ideas and thoughtful expression, inspiring students to question, reason, listen and speak with purpose.
