JT Golden Jubilee School Commemorates Parakram Diwas with Thrilling Debate Competition
Jagat Taran Golden Jubilee School, Prayagraj, in collaboration with the Bengali Social and Cultural Association, hosted a successful Inter-House English Debate Competition on January 23, 2025. The event commemorated the birth anniversary of the iconic Indian leader Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, celebrated as Parakram Diwas.
The competition brought together two participants from each house, who presented their arguments for and against the motion. Each speaker was allotted four minutes to articulate their views, followed by a one-minute interjection. The esteemed jury, comprising Dr. Sadaf Siddiqui and Dr. Pratima Chaitanya from the University of Allahabad, evaluated the participants based on content relevance, diction, eloquence, presentation, and rebuttal skills.
G. Shivranjini from Subhash House was awarded Best Speaker for the Motion, while Anubhav Mishra from Subhash House secured the Best Speaker Against the Motion award. Tanya Singh of Vivekananda House emerged as the Best Interjector. Subhash House claimed the winner's trophy, with Vivekananda House declared the runner-up.
The event showcased the students' exceptional debating skills, intellectual prowess, and confidence, making it a fitting tribute to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's legacy. The participants' outstanding performances earned accolades from the audience and the jury, highlighting the school's commitment to fostering academic excellence and critical thinking.
The school Principal, Mrs. Sushmita Kanungo, proposed the vote of thanks, praising the debaters for their critical thinking and argumentation skills.
The event was graced by Dr. Probal Neogi, the Vice President, Jagat Taran Education Society, Shri Shankar Chatterjee, the Secretary, Begali Social and Cultural Association and treasurer, JTES, members of the school management committee, school teachers and students.
The event culminated with the national anthem.
