On this occasion the school Principal, Mrs. Sushmita Kanungo along with all the staff members and senior students assembled together to seek blessings from the Goddess of knowledge, music, art, aesthetics and wisdom, Maa Saraswati. In the Shanti Parv of the Mahabharata, she is referred to as the mother of Vedas. She removes ignorance, nescience and darkness infusing warmth, brightness, luminescence, melody, harmony, purity, and delight. It is believed that on this day, Goddess Saraswati, the harpist, seated on a swan, removes the ignorance from human life and grants them the gift of knowledge and wisdom.
The teachers dressed up in yellow attire to seek Maa Saraswati’s blessings chanted Saraswati Vandana and mantras melodiously. It endowed the Jubilians with a fortuity to know more about the significance and the reason behind the celebrations.
On this divine occasion, a havan was organized after worshiping Goddess Saraswati. In which all the staff and students of the school made offerings. The spring of joy took over when a prayer ceremony worshipping Goddess Saraswati was led by offerings of spring flowers by all the students & staff of the school. It was followed by a divine rendition of Shlokas and mantras , celebrating the harvest season of the Hindu festival.
On this occasion Shri Sanjeev Chanda, the Secretary, JTES and all the members of the management committee were present. The celebration concluded with the distribution of Prasad amongst all.
