The philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi and Shri Lal Bahadur Shashtriji to life and education was revived on October 2nd , 2023 as  Jagat Taran Golden Jubilee School Celebrated the birth anniversaries of these  two great,  iconic, legendary and versatile leaders and true sons of Mother India. Their  lives  have impacted humanity to its core.  

The school organized a special assembly in its auditorium  commemorating   154 glorious years of the Mahatma and his teachings and 119 years of  Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri , a veteran face of the country’s politics, whose simplicity and high thoughts instilled new consciousness in the entire nation.

The Students led  the choir and sung sung Gandhi’s favourite bhajan ‘Vaishnav Jan to’ with full exuberance. The students of class 9 presented a soul- touching skit depicting the Gandhian ideals in the most eloquent manner.and the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre.

The school Principal Mrs Sushmita Kanungo , emphasised in her  speech about the importance of cleanliness, truthfulness and non-violence. She said  that  the former Prime Minister of India Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri is known for his unprecedented contribution in giving independence to the country, Green Revolution and Indo-Pak war. She also said that now  it is time to reinforce the beliefs of Gandhiji and reflect with earnest zeal their impact on our lives and lead a simple life with high principles for a radiant future.

The school organized a Cleanliness Drive a day before in which the students cleaned the areas in and around the school vicinity.   Some of us picked brooms and started our job. Some of the students did the dusting of the rooms and others went to the play ground and started picking wrappers lying scattered there. After collecting them they threw them in to the dustbins. The main purpose of this programme was to create awareness among the students regarding cleanliness and its benefits.

The secretary of Jagat Taran Education Society Shri Sanjeev Chanda lauded the efforts of the students for such a wonderful assembly presentations . During  his speech , he too emphasized that the students must learn from the life of these two great personalities and try to mould them into a good citizen of the nation with strong values and ethics.

The programmes were conducted under the able guidance and supervision  of the three coordinators Ms. Rati Asthana ( the Senior Secondary  Coordinator), Mrs. Shubhra Ghosh ( The Secondary Section Coordinator ) & Mrs. Smita Samaddar ( the Primary Coordinator).
